About the Woodworker

While still a young newly-wed, and in the “hamburger” days of college life, Troy built his wife a small spice rack out of scrap wood, a handful of tools, and in the only workspace he had, which was the tailgate of his old pick-up.  As the years passed more tools have been added and his workspace is now a spacious shop.  Eventually, combining love of woodwork with his passion for the outdoors, Troy built his first wood strip canoe.  Watching flat wood strips bend into graceful, organic curves he became hooked.  Six canoes, three kayaks, and a paddleboard later, Troy is always dreaming of his next boat project.  From simple garden boxes, to complex furniture, boats and intricate turned bowls, Troy’s greatest satisfaction comes from collaboration and working with clients to capture their vision in a finished piece.
